Join the fun at the "Badges & Bobbers" event hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and Conservation and the City of Vinita on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Vinita Lake Park. This exciting event is open to children ages 15 and under, with no fishing license required.
Come enjoy a free lunch, giveaways, and the opportunity to learn about outdoor fishing from experts. Local partners, including the Cherokee Nation Fish and Wildlife Association, will provide outdoor education materials and free tackle and poles.
Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught, with special awards for anglers and archers in two separate age groups: 7-12 years and 12-16 years. The grand prizes for the highest catch will be donated by L&L Outdoors, Honey Creek Outdoors, and Welch State Bank. Additionally, lifetime hunting and fishing licenses will be given to the top boy and girl participants, thanks to State Farm - Austin Brown.
This event is free and fun for all, so bring the whole family out to Vinita Lake Park for a memorable day of fishing, learning, and community spirit!
Vinita Lake Park is located just 3.3 miles northeast of downtown Vinita. Follow Highway 2, turn north on County Road East 240, and then east to the intersection with County Road South 4220. Turn left and follow the signs to the park entrance.
