Sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Langley and supported by the Craig-Mayes Baptist Association, our mission is to share and demonstrate the message of Christ by uniting volunteers to help meet the spiritual, emotional, and healthcare needs of individuals at no cost to the patient. A Vision Realized The concept of Bethesda Free Clinic was envisioned over two years before opening by Dr. Pat Belford, a devoted member of the church. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the church’s vision of being a "Life Development Church," committed to enhancing the lives of those in the Langley community. Originally, the plan was to operate at least one Saturday a month, but through God's blessings and the generosity of medical personnel and volunteers, the clinic is proud to be open every Saturday, providing vital services to those in need. Established in 1985 by Bill and Linda Goldner, the amphitheater has become a beloved destination for visitors from across the nation and the world. It is known for its original biblical productions that feature live animals, stunning special effects, pyrotechnics, and a talented cast of local actors. The amphitheater’s mission is clear: to tell "His story" — the story of the Bible, its characters, and the transformative power of faith. A Rich History of Powerful Productions Since its opening, Picture in Scripture has captivated over 225,000 visitors from all 50 states and 119 countries. The amphitheater’s first production, "The Man Who Ran", told the story of Jonah, Jesus, and the great fish. This production ran for 20 years and set the stage for future successes, including "The Elijah Factor", which brought the powerful story of the prophet Elijah to the stage. In 2017, "Damascus Road: Where Saul Becomes Paul, the Greatest Apostle of All Times" debuted, telling the story of Saul’s persecution of the early Church and his conversion on the road to Damascus. This production continues to be a central piece of the amphitheater’s offerings, drawing audiences every summer with its powerful narrative. An Unforgettable Theater Experience Each summer, Picture in Scripture Amphitheater stages an original Biblical production featuring a 60-80 person cast, local actors, exotic live animals, state-of-the-art surround sound, and special effects.
