Bring the family and enjoy an amazing night at the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo in Vinita, OK. Our History Will Rogers was born in 1879, at a ranch house on the Verdigris River. The only towns that existed nearby were Vinita, Indian Territory (which later became Oklahoma), and Coffeyville, Kansas. After his mother died in 1890, Will was sent to several schools away from the ranch, but the one he grew to like the most was Willie Halsell College located in Vinita. He attended three terms from 1892, until 1895, and he never forgot the happy days he spent there or the friends he made. Years later, while attending a school reunion in 1934, Will Rogers told the Vinita folks, "Have a rodeo here next year and I'll come back." He returned that fall for the old-timer's parade, but on August 15, 1935, just days before the rodeo, Will Rogers and famed pilot Wiley Post were both tragically killed in a plane crash. It was decided that the Vinita rodeo would be held as a memorial to Vinita's cherished "son" Will Rogers, and it has been every year since. A Vision Realized The concept of Bethesda Free Clinic was envisioned over two years before opening by Dr. Pat Belford, a devoted member of the church. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the church’s vision of being a "Life Development Church," committed to enhancing the lives of those in the Langley community. Originally, the plan was to operate at least one Saturday a month, but through God's blessings and the generosity of medical personnel and volunteers, the clinic is proud to be open every Saturday, providing vital services to those in need. The amphitheater’s mission is clear: to tell "His story" — the story of the Bible, its characters, and the transformative power of faith. A Rich History of Powerful Productions Since its opening, Picture in Scripture has captivated over 225,000 visitors from all 50 states and 119 countries. The amphitheater’s first production, "The Man Who Ran", told the story of Jonah, Jesus, and the great fish. This production ran for 20 years and set the stage for future successes, including "The Elijah Factor", which brought the powerful story of the prophet Elijah to the stage. In 2017, "Damascus Road: Where Saul Becomes Paul, the Greatest Apostle of All Times" debuted, telling the story of Saul’s persecution of the early Church and his conversion on the road to Damascus. This production continues to be a central piece of the amphitheater’s offerings, drawing audiences every summer with its powerful narrative. An Unforgettable Theater Experience Each summer, Picture in Scripture Amphitheater stages an original Biblical production featuring a 60-80 person cast, local actors, exotic live animals, state-of-the-art surround sound, and special effects. The amphitheater is designed to enhance the spiritual journey of its guests, allowing them to witness Bible stories in a dramatic, immersive setting. A Family-Friendly Atmosphere Picture in Scripture is not just a theater, it is a place for families to gather and make memories. Before the show begins, visitors can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities such as the petting zoo, where they can interact with Simon the camel, Yancy the yak, and other animals used in the productions. The zoo is open from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on performance nights. Guests can also enjoy a delicious dinner served in the pavilion, with options such as charbroiled hamburgers, grilled chicken, barbecue, and catfish. Meals are served from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and include a drink. The menu offers something for everyone, including a children’s plate with a hamburger, chicken sandwich, or hot dog. Ticket Information and Showtimes Dinner & Show Tickets: Adults: $19.75 for catfish platter, $18.75 for sandwich platter Children's Plate: $6 Show-only Tickets: $14.75 for adults, children 10 and under are free. Honey Creek Landing Marina has been Grand Lake’s favorite nautical hub for over 15 years. A full service marina, Honey Creek has over 100 covered slips, ranging from 30 to 60 feet, available for either annual or overnight rentals. We have a pump-out station, 24-hour fueling site with diesel and no-ethanol gas, newly restocked ship store featuring nautical themed items and lake accessories, lounge and renovated bathhouse, and a convenience store. We also offer full service boat repair and sales. We take immense pride in being a pillar of the community, and are dedicated to providing our customers with a safe and enjoyable Grand Lake experience. Brian and Lessie Dickson are the proud and excited new owners of Honey Creek Landing Marina. After boating on Grand Lake for over 20 years, the Dicksons relocated from their home in Wichita, KS, to be full-time Grand Lakers and residents of Grove. They bring with them their daughter Lily, and two dogs. Brian is an avid entrepreneur and Lessie is a successful business Operations Manager. Combining their unique talents and passion for the lake lifestyle, they are immensely looking forward to making new connections in the area and bringing many improvements to the property.
