Grand Lake Community Ministry AKA The Blue House
Founded: 1985
Location: 268 West Broadway Avenue, Langley, OK
Welcome to the Grand Lake Community Ministry (G.L.C.M.), a dedicated lay organization established in 1985 with the purpose of providing temporary assistance to individuals and families in need. Our mission is to offer help in Christian love, ensuring that assistance is given without any strings attached. In addition to material support, we provide an opportunity for individuals to receive spiritual guidance from ministers of participating churches.
Services Offered
G.L.C.M. extends its aid through the Blue House, where community members can access various resources:
Clothing Assistance: We provide clothing for individuals of all ages, including special items such as layettes for newborns, along with diapers when supplies permit.
Food Pantry: Our food pantry is open from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesdays and Fridays, where qualifying families receive two bags of both non-perishable and perishable food. Families with more than four members may receive additional items based on their size.
Utility Assistance: For those who meet income qualifications, we offer assistance with utility bills. Please note that we do not cover deposits or reconnect fees, and we are currently unable to assist with rent, house payments, telephone services, or fuel.

Pastor Kevin Baker and his wife, Shannon Baker, are the heart and soul of New Life Church. With 19 years of dedicated service, they have cultivated a welcoming and vibrant community where individuals and families can thrive spiritually.
Pastor Kevin is our lead pastor, known for his engaging teaching style that blends contemporary and traditional approaches, often infused with humor to create a relatable experience. He is deeply passionate about making the Word of God relevant to 21st-century living, ensuring that the teachings resonate with the diverse needs of our congregation. Kevin and Shannon are proud parents of four children: Katie (27), Seth (23), Grady (18), and Olivia (16).
Shannon Baker is not only a devoted pastor's wife but also an ordained pastor with Foursquare. With over 30 years in full-time ministry, she cherishes her role in supporting her husband and nurturing the congregation. Shannon has a passion for cooking, reading, decorating, and organizing. She also enjoys mentoring women through The Home Experience, a program designed to enrich lives and build community connections. Together, the Bakers embrace the joys and challenges of raising their family in a rural community, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone they meet.

South Grand Lake Regional Airport
What was once a humble hayfield with only a few run-down hangars has transformed into South Grand Lake's vital transportation and economic hub. Today, the South Grand Lake Regional Airport stands as a testament to the hard work, determination, and community support that has turned a simple grass strip into a fully operational, state-of-the-art airport serving both personal and business aviation.
Thanks to the contributions of local lake organizations, the town of Ketchum, and the airport's dedicated volunteers, including the Girlfriends of the Airport, the airport has undergone significant upgrades. With the addition of an asphalt runway, the airport now offers full-service facilities for both prop and jet aircraft, meeting the needs of aviators and visitors alike.
The airport is a key gateway for travelers looking to visit the Grand Lake area, extending the region’s reach beyond the typical driving radius. By attracting visitors who would otherwise not have considered traveling to the area, the airport is helping to drive economic growth and tourism, with an estimated annual economic impact of $2.5 million.
Future plans for the airport are even more exciting, with the development of new features that will make it an even more significant asset for the region. Coming soon are several major improvements, including the installation of an AWOS III (Automated Weather Observation System), aviation light industrial development, a new terminal building, expanded parking apron, and a parallel taxiway.

Welcome Back Weekend
The official and annual reopening of Grand Lake, dubbed Welcome Back Weekend for over twenty years, The traditional Poker Run, an event that attracts nearly 400 participants in the event’s inaugural year, remains the backbone of one of the most popular off-season weekends ever unveiled on Oklahoma’s premier lake.
What is Welcome Back Weekend?
Welcome Back Weekend is an annual event celebrated at Grand Lake, OK. This event was started in March of 1992 by Terry Frost, the previous owner of the Cherokee Yacht Club. The weekend began with a poker run on Saturday and a showing of the hands-on Sunday. Grand Laker Terry Frost and the late Barbara Connor proposed incorporating a Chamber-sponsored “Casino Night,” which became an instant success. Welcome Back Weekend is to get you back on the lake so you can enjoy Grand Lake more of the year. The event is not just a party anymore; it has come to signify the beginning of the boating season on Grand Lake.

GRDA - Ecosystems and Education Center
Nestled along the scenic shores of Grand Lake—just an angler's cast away from the historic Pensacola Dam—the Grand River Dam Authority’s (GRDA) Ecosystems and Education Center stands as a testament to the authority's commitment to environmental stewardship and education. This state-of-the-art facility plays a crucial role in GRDA’s ongoing efforts to manage and protect the natural resources under its care.
Extensive Natural Resources
The GRDA oversees nearly 70,000 acres of lake water surface in Oklahoma, encompassing the vast expanses of Grand Lake, Lake Hudson, and the W.R. Holway Reservoir. Since 2016, its stewardship has also extended to the picturesque waters of the Illinois River. This extensive area is not only vital for recreational activities but also serves as an important habitat for various wildlife species.

At the heart of the Ecosystems and Education Center is a state-of-the-art water quality laboratory.
