From the vibrant landscapes of Grand Lake to the intricate details of architecture, I have been fortunate to witness and capture the world in ways that celebrate both the grandeur of nature and the subtleties of human connection. With a lifelong passion for the outdoors and a growing eye for the artistic elements of life, I specialize in various types of photography that highlight the natural beauty of the world and the personalities of those within it. My Journey: From Adventure to Art Throughout my younger years, I immersed myself in outdoor activities such as off-road motorcycling, hang gliding, and boating on California’s Monterey Bay. Initially, I saw myself as an adventurer, someone focused on the thrill of the outdoors, rather than an artist. However, as I grew older, I started noticing the light, shapes, and patterns that others around me seemed to overlook. This new awareness led me to discover a passion for photography that I never anticipated. When I moved to Oklahoma and settled on the shores of Grand Lake, I gained the perfect environment for my newfound passion. With 60 miles of pristine freshwater at my doorstep, I regularly took my camera outdoors, capturing nature and wildlife in its endless variety. From that point on, nature and wildlife photography became my calling. Expanding My Lens: People, Homes, and Commercial Photography As I honed my skills, I also discovered the joy of capturing the essence of people. My background in counseling gave me a unique perspective on understanding personalities, allowing me to capture individuals in authentic, expressive ways. This skill set naturally evolved into capturing the beauty of homes and businesses through architectural and real estate photography. In addition to personal portraits and properties, I began to explore telling compelling stories through photos. One of my most beloved projects was The Secret Life of the Grand Lake Pelican, which gained popularity as a photo book. This led to the creation of another book, Jerry Ann’s Place, along with various photo collections paired with music and transitions, creating video-like productions that have been featured on local and national television. Honey Creek Landing Marina has been Grand Lake’s favorite nautical hub for over 15 years. A full service marina, Honey Creek has over 100 covered slips, ranging from 30 to 60 feet, available for either annual or overnight rentals. We have a pump-out station, 24-hour fueling site with diesel and no-ethanol gas, newly restocked ship store featuring nautical themed items and lake accessories, lounge and renovated bathhouse, and a convenience store. We also offer full service boat repair and sales. We take immense pride in being a pillar of the community, and are dedicated to providing our customers with a safe and enjoyable Grand Lake experience. Brian and Lessie Dickson are the proud and excited new owners of Honey Creek Landing Marina. After boating on Grand Lake for over 20 years, the Dicksons relocated from their home in Wichita, KS, to be full-time Grand Lakers and residents of Grove.
